Diablo is a dungeon crawler hack-and-slash action role-playing game. But you already knew that. Developed by Blizzard Entertainment, Diablo III is the 3rd Installment. Diablo III Overview
If you are a fan of the Diablo Series but don’t know anything about Diablo III, below is a quick synopsis.
Act I
You arrive in New Tristram to investigate the falling star that struck the cathedral. Crain is need of rescue, King Leoric needs defeating by recovering his crown. You meet the Stranger whose only memory is a sword that shattered into 3 pieces. Swords are important in Diablo III, to optimize your success understand them all. Especially the Shard of Hate.
The sword pieces are in the Khazra Den and the Drowned Temple. A battle between Maghda, of the Dark Coven. She attempts to force Cain to repair the sword. Leah is able to intervein and her surge of Magical Power defeats Magha. Cain is not spared but he is able to repair the sword before he dies.
Spoiler alert – Both the sword and the stranger are angelic and the stranger’s memories are recovered. The stranger is the Archangel Tyrael, the Aspect of Justice. Disgusted with his fellow angels’ unwillingness to protect humanity from the forces of Hell.
The ultimate conflict causes Tyrael to cast aside his divinity to warn Sanctuary about the arrival of the demon lords Belial (Lord of Lies) and Azmodan (Lord of Sin).
Act II
Leah and Tyrael travel to the city of Caldeum. New characters like the Enchantress, revisit old ones, like the Iron Wolves (returning from Diablo II). Cain is avenged and Leah reveals that her mother, Adria (the witch of Tristram from Diablo I) is still alive. Kulle is brought back to life. This section peaks when Azmodan empowers himself to become the Prime Evi.
Act III
Everyone travels to Bastion’s Keep. A gruesome battle ensues. The Siegebreaker Assault Beast destroys Sin Hearts.
The Black Soulstone seals Leah seals Azmodan’s soul. The 7 Lords of Hell are all not trapped within the stone. The recognition that the Eternal Conflict between Heaven and Hell will not be ended, even if the stone is destroyed. The Soulstone is key to a lot in Diablo III, make sure you know everything you know about it.
The twist, Adria betrays them all and reveals she has been serving Diablo from the beginning. The Dark Wanderer returns (the Warrior player character from the first game and Diablo’s reincarnate body in Diablo II). He is possessed by Diablo. Adria uses the Black Soulstone to resurrect Diablo. Diablo becomes the Prime Evil and begins his attack on the Hight Heavens.
Act IV
The High Heavens are under attack. Tyrael gives into despair. The demon Iskatu is defeated. The rescues of Auriel, the Aspect of Hope, from Rakanoth, the Lord of Despair, happens in the Library of Fate. Hope is returned to the High Heavens. Auriel works to close the Hell Rifts. A brawl breaks out to prevent the Diablo from reaching the Crystal Arch, the source of power for the forces of Heaven. The battle is long and fierce.
Spoiler alert! Diablo is defeated and his physical manifestation is destroyed. In the last scene Black Soulstone is shown falling from the High Heavens, still intact (Diable IV?).
Tyrael commits himself to build a permanent alliance between angels and humans.

- [2.6.1] Earthquake “Leapquake” build – another interesting Barbarian build. It’s several GR levels behind the HotA build but may appeal to players preferring a different playstyle.
